Campaign:
Total - Total Rewards - Win a £5000 Shopping Spree
Running on:
Petrol purchase at Total service stations - Rontec Watford Ltd
What's the big idea:
Not often featured in the annals of PromoWatch, petrol retailers
are every bit as keen as any other sector to distinguish their
brand from their competitors and provide an alternative reason for
loyalty than just being the cheapest. We're talking about added
value. Total's idea, which has been running since 2nd March 2011
(yeah sorry about that!) is to reward customers who spend over £30
with a unique coupon which can be redeemed for prize draw entries
and discounts on leisure and lifestyle pursuits including curry,
cinema, days out and books. The prize draw for £5000 is more recent
though (ahem!)
How:
The good news is you don't have to fill up at Total, let alone own
a car to take part in the prize draw. You will receive one FREE
prize draw credit simply by registering with Total Rewards and
giving them your details. Alternatively spend £30 at Total and
enter the unique number from the issued voucher to receive 1 prize
draw credit and 1 reward credit. Click on the "Win £5000 Shopping
Spree" link and confirm your entry. Oh yes, you can Text the unique
code to 60300 as well. But that will cost money so you don't want
to do that.
What's on offer:
1 x £5000 Shopping Spree
Or £5,000 worth of Capital Bond vouchers to be precise.
Runners Up - 10 x £50 Capital Bonds
Total Rewards
If you did actually buy fuel you can also choose from one of the
many and varied 2 for 1 and similar discounts available on the
site.

When:
£5000 Shopping Spree Prize Draw Live until 6th December 2011
Total Rewards will apparently finish on 28th February 2012 -
didn't they know it was a leap year?
Any good?
Frankly yes. You can enter without making a purchase which is
always a bonus. If you do part with the cash at Total then you will
at least recoup some of your spend in the savings you would
undoubtedly make on the discount offerings. (If you were going to
make those purchases anyway.)
