McDonald's Free Coca-Cola retro glass

McDonalds see life through retro glasses with Coca-Cola
Campaign:

McDonald's - McDonald's Free Coca-Cola Retro Glass

Running on:
With every purchase of a Large Meal or Premium Salad - McDonald's Restaurants and Coca-Cola GB Ltd

What's the big idea:
Back for it's 6th year, the latest free Coca-Cola glass campaign is a classic example of taking a tried and tested formula, mixing it around, adding new elements to breathe new life into a promotion. (Shame the same can't be said of a couple of other re-running campaigns featured on PromoWatch). So, this time they've gone for cool retro glass tumblers depicting Coca-Cola's heritage, the obligatory social media app designed to retro-ise your Facebook gallery and a link back to Coca-Cola's increasingly important reward platform Coke Zone. Whoa - this is heady stuff man!

How:
Visit your local McDonald's and indulge in a large meal or a premium salad. You will be handed one of the retro glasses (while stocks last) and no, you can't specify which one you want. On the packaging of the glasses is a label which you peel off to reveal a unique Coke Zone code. You then visit the aforementioned promotional pleasuredome to see if your code has won one of the prizes below.

What's on offer:
9,490 prizes to be won across 3 different promotional periods

Any good?
Well, you've got to hand it to them. This promotion works on so many levels you can't help but stand back and admire it. It's integrated, interactive and inspiring. This promotion has more fizz than a soda fountain.

It's disappointing that customers can't choose the glass that they want. I wish I'd have known that before I bought a large meal and ended up with two of the same glass. :(

The main reason they don't is to avoid being left with unwanted stock. No choice equals no waste. Still you could end up with a matching set if you eat enough McDonalds?
