Campaign:
Napolina - Win up to 10 Luxury Italian Holidays
Running on:
The Napolina range including pasta, tomatoes, olive oil and pasta
sauce - Napolina Ltd
What's the big idea:
It's an instant win for Italian stuff running on an Italian brand.
Simple.
How:
Enter the number below the barcode on promotional packs on the
online form of the website. Winning entries are chosen using a
computer algorithm. Losing entries will be entered into a last
chance prize draw for a futher 1 x holiday, 5 x cookware sets and
200 coupons.
One phrase we didn't understand at all in the terms and
conditions was: 'Each entrant has the same chance of winning a
prize but all the prizes will only be allocated if there is a
single entry for every promotional pack entered into the
market.'
We think what they are saying here is that they will only
allocate all the prizes if every single code from
every single promotional pack produced by Napolina is
entered on the website. This never happens. Even if they
were giving away £10 for entering an online code, they probably
still wouldn't get 100% claimed. This explains why they say the
phrase 'up to' in front of all the prizes.
What's on offer:
Up to 10 x Luxury Holidays to Italy
A Thomson voucher to the value of £2,500 to book a luxury
holiday of your choice in Italy. The prize is subject to
booking availability and any terms and conditions of Thomson.
Up to 50 x Italian Inspired Cookware Sets
A £100 John Lewis voucher to purchase the Italian inspired
cookware set of their choice
Up to 8000 x Napolina discount coupons
Winners of the coupon prizes will win one coupon which will be
redeemable against either Napolina tomatoes, olive oil, pasta or
pasta sauces. The coupon will be valid until 31.07.2012 and can be
used as part payment towards your next purchase of that
product.
Website:
www.napolina.com
When:
You can enter up until 31 December 2011. All claims for prizes
must be made by 14 January 2012.
Any good?
In our opinion, there is nothing worse promotionally speaking than
an appealing headline which is undermined by restrictions or
conditions in the small print. If we've got our maths right, they
are only allocating prizes out of the total prize pot in the same
ratio as the number of codes entered onto the system compared to
the total universe of promotional packs. So, if the entry rate for
a typical promotion is 5-10% (and that's generous) they will only
be allocating 5-10% of the prize pot. This would be about 1
holiday, 2-5 cookware sets and 4-800 coupons. Napolina - if we've
got that wrong please tell us so we can put the record
straight.
